Synopsis:
Cartagena de Indias, one of the most beautiful cities in South America, adorns the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Luxurious skyscrapers and
expensive hotel complexes line the coastline. The beautiful city center, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, resembles an artificial attraction park with its magnificent and
well-kept colonial buildings and is guarded for the countless tourists. But this beauty and the magical flair are in stark contrast to the high poverty level of a large number of the inhabitants who
have to live their lives behind the walls of the city.
Far away from this surreal world is one of the poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods: El Libano. Overcrowded wooden and plastic shacks line the unpaved roads; settlement construction is officially
illegal. The harsh living conditions make it difficult for the social development of young people who have virtually no prospects for a better future. Economic inequalities are very pronounced
throughout Colombia and are particularly evident in a city like Cartagena.
The film gives an insight into the daily life of Edgar, who formerly belonged to a gang and today tries to fight for a better life.
