There are between 80,000 and 100,000 short grown people living in Germany, i.e. adults who are no taller than 1.50 metres. The causes for the dwarfism are very different. Sometimes it is due to the genes, sometimes to a deficiency in pregnancy or a chronic disease. Laura Beckmann is 1.32 metres tall, Beate Twittenhoff just under a metre. We were allowed to accompany them with our camera for one day. A change of perspective.
